Until recently, Bashay Village has had limited access to water. People have had to walk long distances to fetch water. We have been actively supporting the people of Bashay to distribute water in the village by participating in constructing a village wide water distribution system. We have provided water pipes while the people in the village have supplied the labour. We are proud of this project as it has had a great positive impact on the local community. We have also allocated part of our farm to a project called SIMLESA led by ACIAR (Australian Centre for International Agricultural Research). The project´s aim is to develop methods for African farmers to increase the yields and profits from their maize and legume crops. Furthermore, we along with family and friends have contributed to the building of a nursery school, which is currently under construction in the vicinity of TanzaNice Farm. We intend to participate in further projects that are aimed at strengthening the infrastructure in the community and thus have a positive social and economical impact. |
